As you spend time praying today and the rest of the week, here are some things that you can pray for regarding your church and Easter/Resurrection Sunday:
1. Pray that God will grant you opportunities to invite our lost family, friends, neighbors, etc. to your church's Easter service/s and that many of them will attend.
2. Pray that God will lead lost individuals to your church on Sunday to hear the gospel of Jesus.
3. Pray that all who will be serving at your church on this weekend (e.g., parking lot attendants, security, armor bearers, greeters, ushers, choir, praise team, nursery) will do so in love and excellence, so that people will see and sense God’s love for them in Jesus through your acts of service.
4. Pray that the directors/choir/praise team will select and sing songs that will speak of the gospel of Jesus, that the Holy Spirit will use to touch the hearts of all there - especially those who do not believe - and that will coincide with the sermon.
5. Pray for the one who will lead you in corporate prayer time that his/her prayer will be filled with praise to God for the gospel of Jesus.
6. Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide your Pastor (or whoever will be preaching) in his study of the Scriptures to prepare a message that will be gospel-centered.
7. Pray that during the Invitation the gospel of Jesus will be clearly presented and that people will positively respond to it in repentance of sin and faith in Jesus.
8. Pray that Jesus will save a lot of non-Christians this Sunday. Yes, I know, if one is saved, then it was a great day. But ask God for many more. Eternal destinies are at stake here. Lives hang in the balance. Don't be afraid to ask Jesus to save more than one person this Sunday. Hey, you never know, it just might happen.
9. Pray that our brothers/sisters in Jesus who have been functionally disconnected from Him due to disobedience and from His church will repent and return.
10. Pray that believers will be re-gospeled this weekend, that your time together will be filled with praise to the triune God for salvation from sin, Satan, and death that He accomplished through the work of Jesus on the cross and his resurrection from the dead, and that believers will leave from your gathering encouraged and freshly filled by the Spirit to live and love like Jesus in the world and to be on mission for Jesus, ready to share His gospel with those who do not believe.
P.S. – Of course, pray that these things will occur not only for your church, but for all of your fellow Christian churches across the world.
